Building the Nordic network for carbon-negative energy
Nordic BioPower builds, owns, and operates bioenergy plants that turn wood waste and agricultural residues into renewable energy and biochar, creating local value and lasting climate benefits.
A new kind of energy company
Nordic BioPower is pioneering a new approach to renewable energy production in the Nordics. By integrating biochar and pellet production within one system, we achieve circular efficiency, making our plants more competitive and sustainable than conventional bioenergy operations.

Turning waste into value
We turn what others leave behind into value. By transforming forest and agricultural residues into energy and biochar, we deliver both environmental and economic value.
Pellets
High-quality renewable fuel for local heating and energy use in industry, municipalities and private homes, also used as an eco-friendly bedding material in horse stables.
Biochar
A carbon-rich material that stores carbon for centuries, supports soil health in agriculture and municipal projects, and replaces fossil materials in steel and construction.
Wood chips
Locally sourced from forest and sawmill by-products, wood chips provide renewable, carbon-neutral heat and power. They turn natural side streams into clean, reliable energy within the circular bioeconomy.
Circular energy in practice
In our facilities, nothing goes to waste. All heat generated during biochar production is recovered and reused in pellet manufacturing, creating a closed-loop process where resources are maximised and environmental impact minimised.
This is a key part of Nordic BioPower’s circular economy model – turning local by-products into renewable energy while making every step of production more efficient.

Local production, Nordic reach
Our operations
We are currently operating one production facility in Davidstad, Finland, where we manufacture high-quality wood pellets and wood chips for renewable heating. In addition, our biochar plant, relocated from Nurmes, is being commissioned, with production scheduled to start in the first half of 2026.
A second facility in Höganäs, Sweden, is now fully operational and will commence biochar production in early 2026 – a key milestone of carbon removal and sustainable industry.
