Positive Test Results for Biochar from Höganäs

The biochar produced in Höganäs last week has successfully passed the first stage of testing for metallurgical applications. The initial analysis results show that the biochar meets three important quality requirements for the intended application. Further testing is required to verify that the biochar meets all quality requirements.
The results represent an important step in the development of biochar for metallurgical applications. Particularly encouraging are the high fixed carbon content and low ash content, providing a solid foundation for continued testing, process optimisation and future production of metallurgical biochar.
“We are very pleased with the results from the first test. The fact that we already meet all three key requirements demonstrates the strong potential of both the feedstock and the process. The next step is to continue optimising production and verify the results through further testing,” says Patrik Nordström, COO at Nordic BioPower.
